Elsa x Marilyn Monroe

I was on my way to Elsa's place (our shooting of the day was cancelled, but I wanted to do something cool and new) when I thought about Adrien, a brand new make-up artist. I noticed his work back in Greece 3 years ago, when I saw his make-up creations I was speechless. so his evolution from the circus artist to make-up artist was very logical to me.
the only problem was the clothes, we didn't prepare anything... and a picture of Marilyn Monroe under the sheets appeared in my head. I called Adrien and as by a magic he was free and enthusiastic to work with us.
here comes our first collaboration as a team, I think that we will work together again very soon !

Nelli Tsay

we've spend with Nelli Tsay a huge amount of weeks willing to meet with each other and work together. she saw my pictures, I saw her face, but we were too shy, I guess, to make a first step towards one another.
and then she commented on one of my pictures, I responded and very quickly we set the date.
Nelli is a big traveller, she is a very hard to catch kind of girl. I don't remember how but we managed to find one hour in between her flights to make a mini-shoot and drink a coffee together.
my expectations were approved when I saw her. gorgeous exotic girl, very sensual, stylish and photogenic.
around the coffee she told me about her acting career that started pretty early back in Saint Petersburg and pursued all around the world, and that she is always on the run between different projects in different countries and how she is loving it.
Nelli is a very strong and determined person, she knows where she is going and makes everything that is in her power to get there, no excuses, no self-pity. I can learn a lot from her and I know I need more people like this around me in order to progress and build the confidence in myself and in my work.
we also share the same kind of believes and sensitivity towards life with Nelli. my only regret is that we didn't had a lot of time for shooting and for talking. but I know we will see each other very soon...

Elsa x studio

few months ago we spend an afternoon into professional photography studio with my Elsa and her friend who needed her as a model for his project for L'Oréal. I have to admit that photo studios creep me out, I'm scared of anything that is technical. so I felt as a fish out of water... but Cedric Porchez, professional photographer and the owner of the studio, is the opposite of me, he loves it, he showed us so many different ways to use the light and change the shadows on the face/body or behind the person, I had no idea that you can do all that kind of stuff with an artificial light. it was intimidating.
but then we went all together at lunch and in the middle of conversation Cedric told us that he would be lost if he had to make a shooting outdoors. and that's the moment when the fish jumps back in the water ! I love natural light and shoot outdoors, I feel myself very comfortable surrounded by nature or city on one by one with a person I shoot. so I felt some kind of relief. we are all different and like to work in different conditions.
of course it's very cool to learn new stuff and Cedric was very nice and patient. we did some pictures just for the experience with Elsa and I like a lot some of them.
and the good thing is that I'm not scared of photo studios any more...
