Cinque Terre

our other destination in Italy was Cinque Terre. the day started with cold rain and wind, so because of the bad weather the visit of two lands were cancelled. we were socked and pissed off...
and when we were in train for the last third village we stayed blocked in a middle of a tunnel for at least 30 minutes. it's funny having a small panic attack and laugh at the same time ! girls were nervous but it was hilarious, they were telling stupid things to distract us and each other from the fact that we are in the middle of a dark dark tunnel with a little air to breath. Daphné just killed us with her sarcastic sense of humor, I had cramps in my stomach because I was laughing so hard.
so from Cinque Terre it became Two Terre. but still it was gorgeous ! it seemed almost unreal because everything looks so beautiful and perfect. I definitely would like to come back, at least for their ice-creams and other delicious treats...

when we woke up in Italy, part I : Tivoli

we woke in the port of Civitavecchia where a taxi was already waiting for us. after almost two hours of road we arrived at Tivoli.
at first we've visited the ruins of Hadrian's villa, but you know, girls and ruins early in the morning on empty stomach... it was beautiful though, very green and specious with gorgeous cyprus alleys.
right after we've ate in an amazing italian restaurant where a real mamma was cooking in her kitchen. we had no idea what we were going to see just after the meal...
I think Villa d'Este is one of the most gorgeous places I've ever seen, inside and outside. it is bewitching, no wonder it's UNESCO world heritage site ! statues, fountains, green alleys, views... we were speechless.
sadly, as the other times, we had not enough time to explore everything but it is definitely one place I would love to come back !
